Manisha’s Kitchen was awarded Highly Commended Budget Restaurant in Dubai in 2019.
Time out says:
Should you find yourself out and about in Karama (which, it should be noted, has some top street eats around), take a pit stop for a quick bite to eat at this easy-going, intimate Maharashtrian restaurant.
It’s particularly helpful for veggies and vegans, since Manisha’s Kitchen exclusively serves vegetarian dishes, and it’s as authentic as you’d like.
Grab the mutter pattice for a quick bite or an easy starter to your meal. A potato patty stuffed full of spicy green peas and mixed greens is quickly deep-fried and served alongside a cooling tamarind and mint dip. The best bit is that the starter alone costs just Dhs13, and that’s pretty much the norm for all of the restaurant’s many starters, which includes samosas, vada pav (a similar potato patty, stuffed into an Indian bun), bhaji and more.
Main courses will also cost you less than Dhs20, and offer a whole host of different curries, all vegetarian, of course. Interesting dishes include jackfruit curry and the kaju mutter – a green pea and cashew curry served in a spicy onion-based sauce. Grab a chapati on the side and you’ll easily roll out the door – and you’ll get a feast for less than Dhs30.
